Aside from the cotoneaster, maybe, I?d put all of those trees outdoors. No need for greenhouses or extra protection at all, as they all endure low temps fairly well and as a matter of fact they would be needing it in order to thrive.

If the soil is well draining and/or not overwatered, there should not be a problem until -10 Celcius degrees. When temps are lower than -10 C, I would consider some protection.

My trees (pine, juniper, cotoneaster, berberis, elm, maple) got snow on them for weeks. It was -20C for two weeks. They even got rain on them which later froze them into a solid piece of block lol They did not even lost a branch. I only lost one elm last year due to improper, soggy soil. There is no harder than keeping anything alive in a soggy, regular potting medium.

I wrote extensivel about this over the last few weeks. Please have a look here:

In general, protecting pins from rain is a good idea if it indeed is very wet. Junipers possibly too. Personally, all my trees stay outside for pretty much all the time, except for some species that really do not like frost. Consider protecting maple and azalea against sustained temperatures below -10, -15.

Nice read. Hadn?t checked your site in while. As usual very well written and quite instructive LB.

Great to be back and see these inputs. Been a while too.
