I am brand new to keeping bonsai trees, but I collected some seeds from our sugar maple, and started them in a bag. The one in the largest pot is now 7.5" and the ones in smaller identical pots are both 4", they are looking healthy but I'm wondering what the best step would be. And how often they will need watered, fertilized, etc. If anyone knows, I would be glad to discuss and read over any suggestions.

So your question is.. How do I grow a bonsai?
That is something that people spent 10 years for in Japan to learn. So.. It is not a question to be quickly answered in a forum.
You can have a look here: . I have written a few articles on the first beginning.
