A few questions regarding my first bonsai. was created by carlove

I've been thinking about getting a (few) bonsai and starting one from seeds.
I have tried looking online but haven't found any concrete answers to these questions:
If I just buy a bonsai that has a trunk of 8cm in diameter is that still easily bendable to put into a shape with wire?
And can a a 'bonsai' still grow properly when put into a small pot or does it need a larger put in order to grow to a bigger size?
Just as an example, can the tree stay in that pot/same size pot from the day it's been planted?
Thanks in advance!

I hope you are kidding.
Trunks of 8cm thick CAN be bend, but only on certain species (Pine, Juniper, Larch) and with special techniques. So not, you cannot bend an 8cm thick japanese maple.
Plants do not grow significantly in a bonsaipot.
If you are just starting out, which it seems like from your questions, do not get a tree as in your picture. You will kill it, and loose a few thousand euro's in the process.
