It autumn. Also, it is not a giant sequoia.
Nice tree. With proper care this can become a good bonsai.

Oops. Word missing. That should be: It is autumn.

I think it is a dawn redwood (metasequoia glyptostroboides). Both the bald cypress and the dawn redwood are deciduous conifers.
If the leaves are opposite, it is a dawn redwood. If they are alternate, it's a bald cypress.
It looks like it has been neglected for quite some time. The branches seem not to have been pruned and have grown too long, there are too many branches in the apex. The tree can be improved - but DO NOT rush that

Then start learning! There is absolutely no rush to work on this tree. It does need improvement, but you have time. Use that time to study the subject. Look up guidelines for this species, when and how to prune. Do not do anything if you are not sure what to do. Cutting a branch is easy, growing it back is very much harder.
Look up websites with care guidelines for this species (and first, make sure what the exact species is). Look up multiple sites, as some only give very generic instructions. For example, 名媛直播 Boy does have instructions for multiple species - but all their instructions are just copy/paste from other species, only changing the name of the species. Look for sites that give very specific instructions.
Seems the branches have gotten too long, and there are too many branches in the apex of the tree. You should prune it. Again do not rush that. It will not harm the tree NOT pruning it. Your main and most important concern is to keep it healthy.
