Wilting curling leaves

I have had this Golden gate ficus for over 2 years and it has been doing great. However, for the past week or so the leaves are curling and some have turned yellow and dropped. I figured out that I watered it too soon and the soil at the bottom of the pot was soaked and not drying very quickly. So I decided to move it to a new pot. Is there is more I should be doing to for the tree or do I just need to wait for it to "feel better"?

Does the pot have a drainage hole?
Not sure why you are asking this on a bonsai forum, as this is just a yougn ficus and it
doesn't have much to do with bonsai.

Yes it has a drainage hole.
I'm asking because I'm a young person trying to learn about bonsais and how to take care of them. I have had this one for a few years and I'm trying to raise it into a nice bonsai

That's good. If the soil stayed wet very long, repotting it was a good idea.

You are going to need growth. I think this plant is still a bit too young and the trunk a bit too thin. So, your first concern is to get it healthy. As you already repotted it, I think now you need to wait and see how it responds (which you already suggested, so I agree with that).
