Hello everyone!

I live in China and I have a Fukien Tea bonsai. When I lived in the States I also had a bonsai that I kept for well over a year but when I moved to China, unfortunately I could not bring it with me so I left it in the care of family...which went about as well as one might expect. Somehow my mom killed it....

Anyway, I digress. I now live in China and after getting settled I felt it was time for a bonsai again. Everything was going well for about 2 months when I started noticing some bugs. I read that a good way to get rid of the bugs was with a soap solution (1-2 TBSP of liquid dish soap to 1 liter of water) yesterday. Well, It got rid of my pest problem but today I noticed that all the leaves on my bonsai have brown spots. Figuring it is the soap that is drying it out I've begun spraying the leaves with clean water in an attempt to wash the residue off.

I have taken some pictures of the problem as well as a picture of the tree itself. Every leave has these marks.

The spots haven't grown since I've washed the leaves with clean water. Will the leaves recover? Or has common liquid dish soap signaled the doom of my bonsai? It is disconcerting and some advice would be welcome.

Thanks!
John

Sounds like you used too strong solution of soap. The leaves will probably frop off, but new ones will grow so it should be ok. I don't think spraying with water is helping. Just keep it out in the air and let it recover
