My english elm I dug out of the neighbors property (with permission) has suddenly exploded with growth after laying dormant over winter.
(Im in Australia btw)
But Im not sure what I should do now. As english elm is a creeper it has little shoots sprouting near the edges. Those could be cool to grow.
And the twin bodies is cool too.
Any thoughts?

Depending on when you dug it up, I would cut the trunk down to the lower growth, get rid of the straight trunk. Also the lower branch that is going out parallel with the ground. Then I would also remove the suckers. I would also want to see what there is of the trunk whch seems to be planted quite deep in the pot. I would also reduce the second trunk. Are you sure of the species? I can't tell from the picture.

Im certain its an english elm. As for the roots I'll see how they are doing tomorrow.
So you suggest cutting it back to the lower growth?
I'll take some more picks this week.
Keep an eye out.

The middle part of the trunk is very straight and not good, so by cutting this down you can grow the new trunk from that point. The other long trunk is also straight and can have the same done. The suckers are a pain. The other branch that goes straight out level with the ground is no good and can be removed. As you are into your spring you can do this. If you scrape away the soil close to the trunk you can see how much good trunk there is or might be below the soil.
