Thank you! I am not sure which species then. At ten years old, it still has needle like foliage (quite sharp). Is ten years old considered young for the shimpaku, pre adult foliage stage? Or is it the precumbens?
The guy wires are only attached to the wire wrapped around the trunk, it does not touch the bark whatsoever. All wiring currently is a very temporary until I can go get the proper supplies. The trunk wire is reused, only using to help give support, no shaping. Its ugly and will be taken off when I get to the supply center this weekend to get new wire. Guy wires will be redone properly as well.
Any suggestion on what style of foliage pruning I should look into?
