Hi
about 3 weeks ago I purchased a mature ficus microcarpa. I got it from a place that looked more like a bonsai shelter and many trees were in bad condition or already dead. The ficus that I got I assume is about 20-25 years old (?). I repotted it and took of some of the weaker branches. My plan is to prune off all the big branches that dont look good at all, and start new growth from the old trunk. But to do so I want to wait for another season to make sure the tree is healthy and vigorous again. And that leads me to the question. There was a lot of fruits - still green - that I pruned off to direct the energy to new leaf growth. And now there is a lot of new little spheres that I cannot identify. I assume they are also fruits, as new leaf buds look more pointy, like little cones. I want to prune them off as well, but want to make sure they are fruits not leaves. Can anybody could confirm the little balls are fruits? I would appreciate your input, thank you, Lukasz.

That looks like new fruit growth to me.
My lemon tree had similar growths on it last month. Those growths are now lemons.
You are correct in assuming if those growths were new leaves/branches they'd be pointy, not round.
