Hey folks, hoping someone can tell me what's going on here. I have an Hawaiian umbrella bonsai. It's been indoors in the same spot for roughly a year now, and is moved only when I'm out of town so the building manager can take care of it. I water about once every 3 days and rotate it at the same time so that it gets sun on all sides. Haven't had any issues thus far but suddenly it has started dying on one side. I though maybe it needed some more sun on that side so I rotated that side to face the window but no joy. Entire stems are turning brown and dropping their leaves, anyone seen this before?

I would jjust say.. move it outside. These plants are thouroughly unsuitable for bonsai in all but the most tropical climates. Indoors they will never thrive and you get problems like these.

Thanks leather. Might you know why these problems would only start showing up after a year in the same location. I ask because I'm worried that it might be a different factor

I do not have these plants anymore, and am not too familiar with their responses. It could be something as simple as too much sun and too little water one day. I do not see any signs of serious insect presence, so would for now not think of pests.
