My Carmona is dying and I don't know why

Hi Everyone. I bought a 6 year old Carmona (Fukien) bonsai tree about 2 months ago from the garden centre. For the last month-and-a-half it has been thriving. I was watering it a little and often, ensuring that the soil was moist but not waterlogged. I used a few pellets of 'Grow More' slow release fertiliser. I then started reading into the subject of 名媛直播 upkeep in more detail and there were suggestions there that I should use bespoke 名媛直播 plant food, so I ordered some off the internet. (Naruko NPK 5-5-5) about a month ago. I used 3/4 of the recommended dosage. I also read that the proper way to water the tree was to let the soil dry to a particular point and then dunk the treee into water for about 30 seconds or so, so started to water it that way. I think it has been overwatered once or twice since I've started using this method. Over the last couple of weeks the leaves have been getting more and more dessicated. First they lost their waxy sheen and then they dried out. There is no yellowing as far as I can see. I attach a picture of what it looks like now. I should add that as the weather in London has been very warm (above 25C) I've been keeping it outside.
My questions, if anyone could be so kind to help me, are these:
1. What did I do wrong? I'm not sure which variable (or combination of variables) are responsible for my tree's current condition. Is there a way of telling by looking at the tree?
2. Is my tree dead or is there some way I can nuture it back to its former glory? If the latter, what do I need to do?
Thanks so much in advance,
Ravi (first time bonsai owner)

I think your tree may be dead. They are very hard to keep healthy, they have some info about the tea tree on this site that you should read, the dunking method isn't the best I would reframe from doing it. As for the fertilizer it really comes down to what works best for you, I prefer organic cakes but the only problem with them is they stink and flys are attracted to them so there are maggots. I would stop fertilizing for now but continue to water it may bounce back but you deff want it to be healthy first.

Thank you so much. I will scrape off the fertizer and hope that works. I have ordered a cloche for it as I have read somewhere else that they like humidity - hopefully that will work too.

Well, I particularly don't think "dunking" in the best way to water a bonsai.
Water it when the soil feels dry to the touch, use a chopstick or stick your finger 1cm into the soil; if it feels moist water later, if not, water now.
Fertilizer in the summer is not a problem, unless you are using the wrong dose (too much, I mean).
Your young tree is looking very bad, almost dead. Don't give up, there is always hope; water according, keep it in a very light place outside (out of direct sun for the moment), and wait.
patience is the name of this game.

Keeping the tree alive, being a Carmona, is not so easy.
BTW, is this sort of cloche you intend to buy?

It's a plastic cloche modelled on the Victorian glass ones (much cheaper!)
Cheers!
