Came across this at a local garden centre for ?10. Struggling to find any information on this tree with regards to bonsai and if it is suitable. At present it's just going in the garden/ground to grow.
The nebari is poor and I would maybe have to air layer etc but before I spend time doing this I was wondering if anyone has successfully grown this species into bonsai.
Thanks.

I would think so, at least I like it. As for me I would trunk chop it and work on the taper and branches. The problem I'm having with my pine is that the branches are thin and lengthy and working on back budding so I can reduce there length and thicken them up as to help with the over all taper of the trunk.

Cheers for the reply. This type of work is something I am totally new. Have a lot of starter trees and shohin so will have to do a bit of reading to try and do it right.
Agree with what you say with the branch chop and taper. Thanks again.
