Hello everybody. I bought a grow your own bonsai kit 6 months ago, this is my first time growing trees into bonsai so my knowledge is very limited. I followed all instructions and 2 seeds did take, there is a slight problem though! As you can see by the pictures, 1 of the bonsai is massive! They are only 6 months old and I have read they should be left for 3 years before even attempting to cut? My issue with this, is in 2 and a half years I imagine this bonsai will be the size of my living room. Someone please shed some info on what is going on here. I have been watering as needed and use fertiliser once a week. It's is a 3.5-3.5-3.5 ratio. Thank you for all help. Bottle is a 1.5litre size

I would leave it alone and let the trunk fatten up for those 3 years, you can always cut it back to were you want it to be after you have established a good trunk. I would wait.

名媛直播 are not grown this way. You cannot keep that plant in that tiny pot.
Also, it doesn't belong indoors.

Congrats on getting to grow such a nice tallplant from seed. It is not something all people manage on the first try.
名媛直播 development goes in fases You grow a cutting or seedling. Make sure the roots are well developed to create a nebari. You focus on the trunk: Shape and thickness. Then you grow branches.
Keep in mind, the height of a bonsai is typically 6 - 12 times the thickness (diameter) of the trunk. So you need to let it grow. There is a lot of information. I find growingbonsai.net has a good article on growing trunks.
Do put your plants outside. Best would be t grow them in full ground.

Thank you for you help. The problem with growing outside, is I live in a flat with no garden. What are the differences between growing indoor or outdoor? Thanks

The differences between growing indoor and outdoor, is that most trees need changes in light, air, and temperature to live and thrive... junipers for example will not survive for any length of time indoors... some tropical trees can be kept indoors for the fall, winter and part of spring, but putting them outside when it gets warm enough is also very good for them. do you have a balcony?

I'm afraid I do not have a balcony. I have it situated on a window which has very good light source and several hours of sunshine throughout summer time and the window does open very wide. It's the best I can do really. Do you have any idea on which species it is? After research I thought it may be a Chinese elm. As for the little bonsai, I thought that may be a black pine? Cheers lads much appreciated

At this stage the pine/picea/larch is hard to dentify. it will take a bit more growth.
The other tree.. Not a chinese elm. Might be another more local elm. but does nto ring any bells.
