I'm just starting out in bonsai. Doing all my homework before buying a tree. I would also like to have some basic tools to hand. Any recommendations on suppliers ?. Preferably in N.Ireland or UK.
Thanks,
John.

My first tools were a pair of scissors, secateurs, a desert spoon hammered into the shape of a small trowel, a dining fork wit the prongs bent 90 degrees, half inch paint brush and a pair of snipe nosed pliers. As I started to have more disposable income I started getting things like knob cutter, proper wire cutters. Its surprising how much you can use from what is available before laying out cash for specialist tools. My original root hook was a a 12 inch length of 3/8 rebar hammered to a blunt point with a wooden handle resin fixed on.
