On another forum someone asked if anyone had ever tried to grow a blue maple from seed.
Now, bonsai seed doesn't exist, but as far as I know, neither do blue maples. So, I did some searching.
Seems it is impossible to buy a blue maple, but there are lots of people offering blue bonsai seed.
Here's a picture:
Now, the foliage of this tree is blue on the photo. However... so is the moss! Obviously, the image was photoshopped. The green was replaced by blue.
If this picture isn't clear enough, this one certainly is - seeds for multi-colored maple bonsai! The image was stolen (as obviously, this concerns an existing bonsai that was photographed at an exhibition). Clearly it was photoshopped - and very badly too.
Both pictures come from Aliexpress - but there are others offering them too.
名媛直播 seed, blue maple.... you're being scammed twice.
I thorouglhy detest these practices.

I did not have any doubt the 'blue' maple was photoshopped, but I realized I could do an image search via Tineye.com.
It did find the original photo, so here's the proof:

Great post Auk. I noticed this on the web a few weeks ago, and I showed it to my wife, and we were both laughing at how badly edited it was. I can't believe people fall for this. And worst of all, that people get away selling this. COMPLETE SCAM.
