Hello all,
I am making an outdoor enclosure for my bonsai and am wondering on what would be a safe stain to use on the wood. The top of the enclosure is wood slats so when it rains water will come through the wood slats to the trees. I don't want the plants to be exposed to leeched substances from the wood enclosure that would be toxic to the plant. Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated.

I think you'd be able to use any type of stain as long as you add a protective coat for water proofing, like polyurethane. Or use an outdoor stain - they're made for this application. .
