Now, that's an honest answer. Thanks!

Me? I kinda like Craig's idea for the little guy. Is it a masterpiece or even show worthy? Nope. Will it make me grin ike an idiot while I stare at it drinking coffee? Yup.

Auk wrote: While what I wrote is true - and I even overlooked some trees, like a potentilla that's there, left to grow for many years before I touch it - on the photo there's nothing to see. You don't see a single bonsai on it. From a bonsai-perspective, I find this not interesting - and therefore I don't post many pictures of my trees.
Thanks for the comments on the garden though - that too is something I completely designed myself
Suppose there are more things we can shake hands on..

Size DOES matter and I'm jealous! Very nice garden. I bet you love doing it too, like I do, maybe not so much the work, but the results.
I am not particularly fond of winter, I love spring. Look at the difference, about 2 1/2 months ago:

Here's another: You might have some dieback, so cutting it just above the first turn might really make a mess. If you're going to cut it, go just below the second curve. Let it break buds and choose from there. As the saying goes, you can cut it off, but you can't cut it back on. Plant that tree & let it thicken up per usual.

I think that the tree would make new buds close to the cut - I'm actually pretty sure of that, as it did the same when I cut it the first time - and so do the other two I have in full ground.
Interestingly:
This company just made me an offer of 20 euros. Looking at their trees, I wonder what they would sell mine for!
This is a new bonsai nursery, opened march 27th, in a village close to where I live. I haven't visited them yet - I should, they do have a mixed offer, including several very nice trees (most likely the interesting ones are above my budget though).
