Hello. Ive had one of in my garden for a couple of years and didn't even know they made decent bonsai until I saw one in a book. I don't know what species it is though?
Also there is this growing out of a flat roof on the back of my house. Anyone know what it could be?

Didn't the book name the plant?

First one could be Buxus spp. or Ilex spp. Pictures of the branches/trunk could help. Crush some leaves & see if it has a strong odor (boxwood).
Can't help you with the rooftop volunteer.

Wasn't the same species.
Thanks for the info, I found the old label still attached to it and it said it was Euonymus just not the species. It has multiple trunks
