I showed this as an example of inexpensive pre-bonsai material, to me it has potential but I am aware it will take a number of years to develop into anything decent

I don't think it was intended as an example of a cheap instant bonsai... but how you can get something to work with for almost nothing. It's nice to work on (bit tricky with wiring though, being a Berberis), and loosing it won't be a big deal. I would have bought it.

I did put the devils face in there to show that there was an undertone.. for me too small, did not mean to say bad!
