Cool idea leatherback ;) i will be looking forwar to the finished product of this website. I have a tree that was styled and collected by graham potter. I think this is a wonderful example of flow in the trunk for me.

Nice idea, LB
I think this might help the beginners (and me  ) to get a little bit inspired, what a bonsai tree about several years may look like. So I've searched on internet and here is a tree that I really like.

Hi LB...
I had seen this topic a while ago but couldn?t comment on it earlier. Well, in order to put my two cents in, I?m leaving here a few pictures of trees I?ve seen and leave me amazed... Of course, there many more, but we need to start from somewhere at some point, right? The first one is an Olive Tree with a great woodwork, the second one is a stunning flowering Azalea and the last one a small, compact and well structured Pyracantha. Oh... and good luck with your site

I thought this was about inspirational trees, not inspirational bonsai? So, something like this?

[edit]I could have checked the site again first. I see you have both inspirational trees and bonsai there :) [/edit]

Man... That is simply MASSIVE! Well, as inspiration is the matter of this subject here is a story I want to share with you all guys.

In my country of birth, Cuba, we also have this amazing trees, Ceibas they are called. They can turn into superb trees and they are regarded as sacred in the Afrocuban (Yoruba) Culture. In Cuba no one would dare to cut down one of these trees. Now, there is this is the tree that represents Havana City, a specimen of this genus that is believed that already existed by the time the city was founded 495 years ago in 1519, the remarkable thing is that it is still standing in Havana and true believers come every year on November 16th (the day Havana City was founded) to take 3 turns around it while throwing a coin towards its roots and ask for wishes that are meant to be granted along the year. The building you see near the Ceiba is called "El Templete" and remains the first neoclassic building built in Havana in 1827. Here are a three chronological images showing how this tree has evolved with time, one with Havana people taking the three turns and a close up of its trunk. Also I?m posting an image of a general cuban Ceiba...

Hey Yáll,

Loving the responses. Just one thing.. I am hoping to keep the site honest, and credit where credit is due. If you are posting pictures that are not your own, please put the owner & source in, so I can contact the owner, of at least put proper reference in.

Alain: Love your homecountry. Spent a wonderfull 6 weeks honeymoon there over new years 2008/2009. Best people I ever met were there.

Now, with my previous post, the one I posted the 3 bonsais:

Picture 2: (Azalea by Kodachi Ken Senshi)
Picture3: (Pyracantha owned by David Cortizas)
