Looks nice, the benefit of it being a weed is that it may tolerate drout. I think it should be thickened, and if your going for slanting then maybe you could let grow to get a bit of taper.

Good job ;)

If you are on a phone, then i do not think you can change the avatar. If your on a computer, then save the image you want or upload it from a camera. Then go on your profile then click edit by the top right, above your private info. Then select "change avatar" by the other things like "profile info" the select "upload image", select your image which should be on your computer or documents, then click save on the webpage, then it should work. ;)

It might just be old enough to have witnessed the drought a couple of years back. Drought doesn't seem to these little elm trees. As a child I was taught they were Chinese Elms. Found out, they are not Chinese Elms. Siberian Elm hybrids, I think.

If its an elm, then this li'l guys tough. I think the best option would be to let it get a thicker trunk, and maybe let it be a slanting style.

This seedling needs a few years in the ground to grow on. Allowing it to dry ou will eventually kill it. Don't let it get dry before watering. Plant it at the approprate time upright and grow it on. Then you can think about what style would suit it.

Thank you, the Elm came bent over like that, the city's been mowing over it a couple times a year. There was more to it before I trimmed it, it was trying to be a bush. There's a few more Elms that survived this, the bigger ones I put in the garden. After a few years of trunk growing, I'll start tapering, and trimming.

They grow pretty fast, some grew about a meter since July, the last time they mowed. Maybe it won't take to long.

When Junipers start seeding I'll toss some seeds it the garden. Maybe some Black Locust seeds to, if the thorns get to big, I can cut them off. There's some wild plumbs in the woods, they have tiny fruit, that are good to eat, but make the worst jelly. I planted a few of them, but may rely on trimmings.

Next spring though, I'll go to the garden center, and find a couple more ready for the pot. Surly in city this size I'll find something.
