I have desert rose, two different jades and a ficus, does anyone have any pointers or tips for me. Also I'm thinking about starting a lilac seedling about 1 1/2 years old as a bonsai, any thoughts on that? The four that I have are in my profile picture. Thanks for the help

well jades are not a bad way to start they are fast growers but are maintained with directional pruning because you will not be able to wire them.carefull on the watering thay need to be let to dry out for a while .too much watering will make the leaves drop,it is how they reproduce.the lilac sounds like a great idea ive been wanting to airlayer one off of my bush. the only issue with them that i know is getting them to flower.

Here is pictures of lilac, I think I have to send single pictures in reply, having some trouble. Im trying to establish a root segment above ground and want to wire main stem. Any ideas are appreciated

i would wait till the lilac is more established and acostom to its surrroundings.wireing puts alot of stess on trees, bending does alot of internal damage and combining with the stress of a repot may ultimatly kill your tree

I sprinkled a very small ammount of root hormone powder on the rootball when transplanting, I hope that wasn't a bad idea. Thanks for the heads up on the wiring, I'll hold off on that, which season should I wire in?
