Hi everyone,
I just received a indoor bonsai as a gift and I was wondering what kind of recommendation I could have to take good care of it. I am also wondering if the bonsai is in good shape or not? Looking for an expert eye as I can’t seem to tell.
If unhealthy what should I be doing to help it. The branches and leaves seem a little unhealthy to me.
Thank you for any assistance

I looks like it might be a privet....and it looks like it might not be getting enough light. can you remove the rocks from the pot? they might be interfering with watering...which can also cause problems. have you used fertilizer?

Make sure that water can pass through.

Provide enough light. One of the main problems with keeping a bonsai tree indoors is that the light intensity light indoors is much lower as compared outdoors. ..
