Pomegranate anyone? was created by Ace_Essex

Hello all,
Im a new member here and been a on/off bonsai grower for well over 10 year.
I am currently located in UK, Essex and have been trying to get my Pomegranate bonsai's to flower but have not succeeded. All my plants are grown from seed and i did my best to ensure i get good quality seeds but have failed to get them to flower nevertheless.
My pomegranate trees range from 3 yrs old to 13 yrs old (8 in total)
I'm wondering if anyone in the UK or with similar weather has managed and succeeded with this? im not bothered with the fruit but i only want to see it flower.
This year i am trying high nitrogen feed in various forms (they joy of having 8 plants) but was hoping someone on here may be able to give me some advice.

Could be just the climate I guess.
Here in the tropics even saplings 1 year old sprout flowers and fruit.
Be patient, they will come.

I bought one some years ago, it flowered first year but not since. I don't think it is hot or sunny enough here. It takes a long time to come into leaf after the winter which might be part of the problem but I do not have the facility to put into greenhouse.

Flowers come on the runners. So if you frequently trim the tree, you trim away the flowering options.

Also, lots of fertilizer means very few flowers.

Combine these two actions and.. No flowers?

Thanks guys. I think it may be an issue with my location. The reason I refused to accept is I've been to a garden centre where they had a pome in the ground with plenty of flowers.

I've had few of my pomes well over 10 yrs now and have tried both trimming and not trimming all year. Still no sign of flowers. I've also tried feeding it with different types of fertilisers. This year I'm aiming at high nitrogen... so adding things like used coffee ground and fish blood and bone meal.

I neglect my house plants. Always have. Well... sometimes I remember them and take care but soon I will loose that routine and forget them again. One of the reasons why I now only purchase succulents and cactii :)

One of my plants, long neglected, leave tips browning, little growth, surprised me by starting to flower. It's a Dracaena that I've never seen flower before.

So, maybe pamper it a bit less and not fertilize it for a while? Also, I think it shouldn't be high in nitrogen.

I doubt it is the climate. I still have flowerbuds on mine even though they are outside in frosty nights.

Nitrogen is for green growth. Phosporous is for budding, flowers and fruit. Well a little to simple rule, but still some thrue in it. Dont experiment with nitrogen if you want flowers, experiment with phosporous instead. I use bat guano from fruit eating bats for everything blooming or setting fruits. Npk 2-12-2. Works great. Havent tried on pomengranate thou.

My current feed is 7-7-7

As I have 8 pomes i think it's time i have a play with each one. I still think it's the lack of sun we get here in the uk. I've read pomes need a lot of light which is understandable since they come from the middle east.

I guess what I really wanted to know is if anyone else here in the uk has managed to get theirs to flower. I dont want to be trying to achieve the impossible

It's not impossible.
