Let's call things as they are, like Dutchs do. was created by Clicio

Two or three weeks ago I suggested to Jelle privately that we had a troll in this forum.
I think I was right.
Now let's turn around and talk bonsai as we've been doing for years and just stop feeding trolls?
Like me, many old timers are getting frustrated and upset, and we all lose when good people leave.

I thought that too, initially, but now I think it's not a troll - which is worse... and it's ruining this forum.

yeah, I still am confused as to whether this person is really that dense or actively trolling.

In any case.. I am not sure what I hold of the forum nowadays. Mallsai get more attention than progressions. Updates do not get any responses. Lately I do not have the feeling I am getting anything back from this website.

It's sad that one person can take away the joy for this forum, for so many people both new and old. He clearly don't understand the problem. Wish some mod could tell him. I see how that works on other forums. What would there be left if LB, Clicio and Auk leave this forum? Nothing! Please take action, any mod in here before it's too late!

Not sure who the person is being refered to, but I do tnd to agree that it does seem to be the same stuff posted and most could be looked for quite easily. facebook is worse, I don't understand why people can't do their own resaerch instead of expecting to have others do it for them.
I will continue though to look every day to see what is posted, and answer if I can.
Geoff.

Fortunately, we still have the price winner on this forum, who posts a tree, asks us how we would shape it, grins when he sees the expected standard reply, and then comes with a completely different approach, helping us learn think out of the box.

Then we have the flower specialist, who makes awesome photos and posts them for us to enjoy.

Then we have the landscape master, who in a very short period actually even managed to make it a business.

Thing is that our projects are all long term so we don't often post updates about the same trees.
The interesting posts are being drowned out by posts from people not knowing bonsai, that are being answered by people not knowing much about bonsai. The blind leading the blind...

Let's hope this storm passes soon.

Maybe. But if I look at some of the posts, and how little interaction you get.. For me I sometimes wonder why I even update threads. The thread you refer to.. Did not get a single response on the direction choosen. And I often see this. I add an update and you could think it was not published as there is just no response whatsoever. Yet, post a mallsai and there are 5, 10 responses in no time. A person has a yellowing ficus? dozens of replies.
Someone posting a negative thread .. like after like.

I woudl hope that threads that are about growing bonsai and styling would get interaction going. But they don't. So for me, very quickly, the fun is leaving. Especially if you get dense arrogant people on the forum who only seem to be here to piss people off.
