So.. This week my wife and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary. And I was given a pomegranate tree for the anniversary.
Quite a gift, especially as she does not really like bonsai.. Unfortunately, they are quite rare, so I had to go mail order on this one, from one of my favorite british bonsai stock dealers.
I suspect it will arrive next week. Quite a bit of work on this one though!

Hey, congratulations!
Pomegranates are fun to work with, but this one of yours looks already great!
Time to use your woodcarving tools!

That looks suspiciously like a Mr Potter mug there. (I’m on that site a lot!)
Looks like a lovely tree; not jealous in the slightest.

Cleaned out, trimmed back and wired. (And since the picture, also tilted sideways & forward.) Now it is a matter of waiting for spring!

In early spring of this year I decided to remove one of the arms, and create a cleaner looking image:
Summer showed good growth, and a healthy and happy little camper. Looking forward to the further route this will take. Make next year I can already start looking for a pot. Surprised at how fast this developes. Should have gotten a pomegranate way earlier!

With this tree, direction seems to elude me.
In 2020 it carried fruit
I thought too many trunks, so one more was removed. Yet.. Still. ..

How would it look, if you tilt the tree 75 ° to the right side?

The roots do not really allow for a drastic angle change I am afraid.
