The Acer less so. I am not sure what is going on. Are you sure you have fertilized it enough? And the soil is not a saoking wet muck?

I try to control water as much as possible, but you may right, and the old soil between the roots could be more wet than necessary. I fertilized with Magic gold and gave few times micronutrient shot, where the leafs was greener immediately on the second day. I used liquid fertilizer on 2 occasions maybe.leatherback wrote: The Acer less so. I am not sure what is going on. Are you sure you have fertilized it enough? And the soil is not a saoking wet muck?
Aw! And I’ve forgot to mention the spider mites... Now it’s cleaned up, but wasn’t a fun ride with all of those buggers in a row on that weak stick.

Junipers when healthy can be wired and bending then should not be difficult, as the branches are very flexible.
Do bend MORE than your intended design, as it will "straighten up" with time.
And DON'T forget:
"Bend it till just before it breaks".

I don’t worry anymore for this tree’s health. It’s in better shape than me, so later on this year, I’ll open a progression thread to follow the development.
Will never became a great bonsai, but we lived out some stuff together. Just digged himself into my heart...
