Does anyone grow white mulberry as a bonsai? I have one growing naturally in my back yard which I will have to remove due to it's location (it's growing beneath the canopy of a much larger evergreen tree). I wondering if it's worth the effort of digging up the root ball to collect it or if I should just cut it down.

In general, mulberry is often used for bonsai. I think I used to have a black one, which responded well to various bonsai related treatments. I am not sure whether the white one is very different, but doubt it would be different.

Mulberry is a good species to use. I have two, bought a second one as I thought one was dead, but it came back. Very late coming out this year. They do need some frost protection, I keep mine under an open cover and cover with fleece if it gets much below -3C.
