Mine go to a friend who is into aquaria. Maybe I should ask to see the result some day.

Hi there,
Another beginner here! My name is Stefano, and I decided to join because I want to learn as much as possible - always loved bonsai but never felt quite ready to start taking care of them. Now I feel I am ready and a week ago I decided to buy two small ones, a Dawn Redwood and a Golden Larch at a local garden centre. I feel the Dawn Redwood is already overgrown for the pot, with its roots already coming out. But I am not sure, of course, and I am hoping you can help. Should I attach a picture of my bonsai tree here or create my own thread?
Thank you!

Just dropping in to say hi--I've been fascinated by bonsai ever since I was a little kid and was taken to see the bonsai garden at the national arboretum in Washington DC, and also having lived in Japan for a couple years. I always wanted to take care of a bonsai, but had never been too good with plant care in general, and was intimidated by the prospect. But now I've been forced to care for one anyways (see my recent thread). If my maple doesn't make it, I do want to try again, but with more research ahead of time.

Hello to all, native from the islands. Lucky to have my best friends dad was part of a prestigious bonsai club in Hawaii growing up. Always had a green thumb. Live in Colorado now, and I am extremely proficient in many aspects of cultivating and propagation. Indoor and outdoor grow experience, not a know it all. But I know enough. Hope I can help offer a valued opinion, and meet some neat peeps.

Hi I am Ryan. I went to my local bonsai exibit for the second year in a row. I finally took the plunge and bought a wisteria. I am just getting started.

HI,
My name is Frank and I'm a relative newb to this hobby. I'm so new that the only trees I have are germinating in pots at this time. I tried bonsai in the past but due to the fact that I was moving around a lot I killed a lot of trees. I decided to take the getting started course here as a way of learning more about the hobby. Also I would like to maybe find someone near me physically to help show me some things as well. I thought this would be a good place for that. I live near pittsburgh, PA if anyone knows any shops or supply stores near that area.
