Sorry guys, I have posted from my cellphone and it didn't crop the image as was intended, and I can not edit this post anymore.
Anyway, I imagine this is what happens to our bonsai when root-bound inside a square pot.

Ah yeah, the broken down tree-containers in Sao Paulo. I pass these type of roots every once in a while and find them funny.
