I wondering if I try to get some cuttings from it, because if the layers done, I’ll chop down the whole thing anyway.

Definitely But it’s really not an easy task to keep in my mind the different needs for all of the specs what I’ve got in this short period. I wish I have your XP in the field...

I think you are doing just fine, building your own experience. Time * doing stuf = experience.

Both air-layers was successful on this Shishi, so I took it further, and this spring I layered the mother to ungraft it. The little ones have really nice root system by now, so I believe I can start to work with the bigger one on the next spring. The small “Gemini” need to bulking up, so I planned to put on a large planter with an other young, skinny maple.
