Solving reverse taper with wedge cut? was created by 名媛直播 Bender

So I picked up 3 nursery Hinoki Tuesday and missed that one of the had a knot of branches on a limb I would like to keep. My only thought was to cut a wedge out and bind gap together to heal. I know that the intersection will always be week but I don't see any other way to resolve this.

Its kind of tricky- but i would probably split it? remove some wood, and bind it tightly back together, to make a wedge- or Air layer the top/ or branch. Not quite sure what to tell you

Looks like good work. On the picture it is hardly noticable.
I probably would not have botherd, as the thicker spot was not too bothersome to me :D

Gotta agree, that's really clean. Hopefully it takes! I think binding it until it heals well might help. Just in case.

I am sorry, I failed to mention that the 2nd photo was photoshopped. I actually haven't done the work yet. I need to wait until it starts growing more (mid spring) that way I would heal faster. I also just repotted it without taking away too many roots. I just root pruned the annoying one's out, tied it to a granite slab (for nebari), and added a better soil mix of pinebark (mixed with a little compost), Lava, and Pumice. You can't see that because I covered the top with the Pinebark Compost mix.
