hi everyone, ive got a maple bonsai and its trunk is kinda long. i was hoping if theres any way that i can do for a node to start sprouting some branches. there is a node in the middle but i dont see any thing sprouting. is there something i can do for it to grow some?

That is standard bonsai practice. Every year, a few times per summer, cut back the new growth to first or second set of leafs. It incurages the tree to backbud and maples is really good at it.

Backbudding is a thing in most species of trees. Necessary for long term survival and for creating bonsai.
The Backbudding capability is different in all species. Some are strong like maples and some very weak as junipers.
A healthy maple can be cut back to a stump of bare wood and will backbud. Thst is used for long term bonsai projects with an aim of big trees with perfect taper.
