藤川光華園 盆栽 - The Fujikawa Kouka-en garden is owned by Mr. Fujikawa and is located near Osaka, in the suburb of Ikeda. The nursery opened in 1950 and several of its trees entered in the Kokufu-ten in Tokyo since then.
The garden is full of great masterpiece 名媛直播 trees and it is a working-place with several apprentices and students around. Fujikawa Koukaen is the shooting location for the "名媛直播 Art of Japan" series, created by his former apprentice, Bjorn Bjorholm.
Mr. Fujikawa normally has international students/apprentices, very convenient for us non-Japanese speakers. Recently a 名媛直播 School was opened, where short-term classes/apprenticeships are offered (from one week to several months). In the video above you will meet Bjorn, explaining about the most famous tree in the nursery. Enjoy watching!
How to get there
The 名媛直播 garden is easily accessible from downtown Osaka. From Hankyu Umeda station (next to JR Osaka station), take the Hankyu Takarazuka line to Ishibashi station. This should take about 20 minutes. From Ishibashi station, you can walk to the garden (taking another 20 minutes), or take a taxi (10 minutes).
