Tokonoma in my garden was created by marco buijsman

I always wanted a Tokonoma in my garden. A few weeks ago I started to build one, and I like to show you the progress of the making of my own garden Tokonoma. One of my goals was to build one with as much as possible woodconnections and as less as possible use of screws. Most of my inspiration comes from the garden tokonoma from Morten Albek. But with my own touch.
The one I'm building has the size of 233 to 89 cm. The roof will extend for about 30 cm at the front and both sides. At the back side a bit less. So the whole roof will be almost 3 meter. Under the table I will a kind of door (don't know how yet) so I can place some other bonsaistuff under it.
The whole wooden part will be made of Douglas wood. The back and left side will be made of trespa.

Now its time for the table. My woodchoise for that is Fraké noir, also called African Oak...

As soon as the table was placed, I made a quick setting on it:

Now whats left to do is another layer of paint, make some handles at the frontpanel, as it is removable. And make some other details. There will be also light in it so I can also show trees by night.

Marco,

absolutely stunning job!
It is very, very beautiful, I love the dark stain, the trunk post, the size.
Really amazing, now I need a garden to copy yours!
Thanks for sharing the progression with us, we appreciate it.

Tonight a have finished the Tokonoma: A layer of stain on the table, wooden locker at the frontpanels to attach and remove them easily, and I have made light into it to show by night!

That's Beautiful Marco!
One day I may copy that.
But first, I must grow some trees that deserves it, hahahaha!
