Here is one of my older trees, 16 years in progression in the beginning I let it go the way it wanted, then I cut all unwanted branches close to the trunk. After a year I took of the foliage and wired.

Same procedure as before, here the last stage before taking the foliage off. then the first back cutting starts. A closer look at the root system.

Please, just wait a second, or maybe a few yeas.
the biggest trunk, turned into a bunch of wrinkles, then there's a hollow with something, growing out of it. What is that perfectly horizontal thing sticking out where the trunks part. Then there's the little tag, with writing on it, that ends, just past the little vine that, marks where the reverse taper starts.
That big root that tucks under the trunk.
No, knowing you, i just need to see what happens next...

Hi Samantha, the big root and the straight one is gone by now, I started cutting and took the foliage off. Tomorrow the tree will be worked on with the "terrier tool" than it comes onto one of my slabs. The roots actually going into the eye, not growing out of it, I leave that as a future.

Our neighbors have terrier dogs ,do you think a "terrier tool", would it help them?
maybe not...
What about the thing growing out of the hollow? Can you keep it?
