It's a [strike]ficus,[/strike] a common house plant, that is not considered a real bonsai.
Oops, too quick. Not a ficus... let me check again.

You bought it at Wallmart, so I had a look at the Wallmart website, searching for"bonsai". It's there, including the name.

Look at the foliage. Then check the Wallmart site again. It's not so hard.

Not all shaped plants in pots are bonsai.

The closest thing on the Wal-Mart website that I see is the "money tree", but the trunk looks very different.
The "Golden Gate" ficus also looks similar, but again, the trunk is very different.
Also interesting, it looks like it has 2 distinct trunks, is that normal, or is this the reason why it was on sale? Can i transplant it if so?
Also want to note that I have never had a bonsai before, not to mention many other types of plants, either. I am a complete novice to this, but I love learning and I am eager to. Thanks for everyone's patience in advance

Good guesses. The first one is correct, it is a money tree (Pachira Aquatica)

Sorry, but this is a forum about bonsai. I don't know why it has two trunks.

I would not call this a bonsai (or even a mallsai). It's a house plant and great if you like it, but it really has no bonsai characteristics at all.

Indeed I did not give a direct answer. You purchased the tree, you know where you bought it and what it looks like.
It took me 2 seconds to find it, Googling nothing but 'Walmart bonsai'. You could easily have done the same.
