I purchased a bonsai tree from Wal-Mart on a whim yesterday...It was on a clearance rack by itself with no identifying tags or information. I've never seen one quite like this...can any of you lovely people help me in identifying it so that I know how to properly care for it??

It's a [strike]ficus,[/strike] a common house plant, that is not considered a real bonsai.

Oops, too quick. Not a ficus... let me check again.

Here is another angle, the leaves are bigger than any bonsai that I've ever seen....

You bought it at Wallmart, so I had a look at the Wallmart website, searching for"bonsai". It's there, including the name.

Look at the foliage. Then check the Wallmart site again. It's not so hard.

Not all shaped plants in pots are bonsai.

It did have a sticker and literally all it said was:

I love bright light

The closest thing on the Wal-Mart website that I see is the "money tree", but the trunk looks very different.
The "Golden Gate" ficus also looks similar, but again, the trunk is very different.

Also interesting, it looks like it has 2 distinct trunks, is that normal, or is this the reason why it was on sale? Can i transplant it if so?

Also want to note that I have never had a bonsai before, not to mention many other types of plants, either. I am a complete novice to this, but I love learning and I am eager to. Thanks for everyone's patience in advance :)

Good guesses. The first one is correct, it is a money tree (Pachira Aquatica)

Sorry, but this is a forum about bonsai. I don't know why it has two trunks.

I would not call this a bonsai (or even a mallsai). It's a house plant and great if you like it, but it really has no bonsai characteristics at all.

I notice you deleted your reply.

Indeed I did not give a direct answer. You purchased the tree, you know where you bought it and what it looks like.
It took me 2 seconds to find it, Googling nothing but 'Walmart bonsai'. You could easily have done the same.
