There is a lot of moss on the surface which is not good and suggests that it could be too wet. How are you watering? Where are you keeping it?

Its outside and its getting most of the days light . Im not really keeping to a schedule anymore i just check it when its dry even tho its quite hard to see it because of all the moss , should i remove it ? Also it has been raining alot lately so i havent really watered it , do you think its a overwatering problem .
One other thing i checked the roots a few months back and it was a bit crowded but i was going to wait till spring is it maybe to long a wait ?
Thanks a bunch

What country are you in? It may not be hardy where you are. Remove the moss. Just because it rains does not mean you don't need to check it. If it is very wet you can tilt the pot with a small rock under to allow better drainage.

That means that you should have this plant protected from frost!!!! That probably is what is wrong with it, it has been frosted, uless it is an English Privet.

It could be the autumn though. I saw on some of my young seedlings a leaf or two like this, but here in Montenegro is unusually hot for this time of year, 20 degrees C every day, and the same temperature is predicted for the coming days. For leaves to go like this before winter is not usual for old and developed privet, but seedlings tend to lose the green earlier. Also, if I understood well from previous comments, it may as well be winter in Scotland, and just formally the autumn :D
