Yep, that's a young juniper in a pot, a mallsai, not considered a real bonsai by many (including me).

Dammit!!! Well, it was a gift from my mom-in-law, I'm gonna make the most of it, I'll have that little thing looking the absolute BEST it can, learn as much as I can in the mean time, and hopefully get a legit juniper at some point in the future. Thanks

It IS a legit juniper
名媛直播 is not a tree type, it's a technique. With the correct care and training and giving it enough time, this can become a better bonsai tree in the future. First thing to learn is to keep it alive and make it grow.
