Got a present of a bonsai tree and know absolutely nothing about them. The tree grew well all through the summer the shed its leaves around November. Now they've all grown back. Is this normal? No idea what species it is. Any advice appreciated thanks

I dont know where you are. But most off us is in temperate climate where most trees arround us shed its leafs in athum and grow new ones in spring. That is called beeing decidious and is a way to protect itself from freezing temperatures and are perfectly normal. In arid conditions there are decidious species that shed leafs in the dry season as well. If your tree is decidious or not is impossible to telll.

I am in the UK. Should I feed the tree or just give it water? Thanks

When it shed it's leaves was it outside?
When brough indoors it got it's leaves back?
This tree can be outdoors in UK winter, but because it is indoor now, put it outside in spring.

When is the photo from, it needs a good size, it is wrong to put it in front of a window and in a room that is not too heated, watch the watering well, it seems to me that it is in a cache pot, be careful water at the bottom that can rot the roots

Never fertilize trees in winter.

Thanks for the advice. I just assumed it was an indoor tree and have kept it inside. I will put it out when the weather improves later in the year.
