Fukien Tea Tree losing leaves fast! was created by Bella Cataline

I bought a Fukein tea tree a few weeks ago at a nursery. I studied the beginner's guide carefully and am trying best to follow all the rules. I live in a cold area, so I keep it inside. I water it regularly whenever the soil is dry. I spray it to keep it humid.
What an I doing wrong? Please help!

You mean, besides buying a fukien tree?
I know. Not a nice thing to hear. But the species is sold soooo often to people starting out. And it 99% of the time does not live a year. It is a tricky species to keep outside of the (sub)tropics.
I have never had one, so I have no clue what the trick is to keep them happy. They just seem more sensitive than others, hate our houses and only really do well when outside.

True that If you stay in any place other than the tropics it's really tough to take care of anywhere other than in a greenhouse. You can try though . I have a Fukien tree and it's doing very well. Some times the trees lose leaves rapidly when they're just bought and are adjusting to your climate. Mine lost leaves at an alarming rate for the first week from buying it, but I still watered it and misted it often. Now it's doing very well! Give it a few days it should be alright. If it doesn't then you can try giving it feed and adding growth stimulating fertilizers and stuff.

Thank you for the helpful advice! One thing I'm concerned about is light. I have no Southern facing windows in my house, and I'm worried my tree isn't getting enough light. What should I do?

If you really think that it is worth the money and time spent now that you know the tree have very small chanse of survival you can always try grow lights.

I really hope you get it... Learn with this tree while you think about your next species...
I think we all know the pain of loosing a tree, but if you loose it, don't let it discourage you!

Update:
It's been two weeks and it's still losing leaves. The first week I had it, it didn't stop one and was even in blossom. But now it's leaves are turning brown and falling (and falling whether they turn brown or not)
What puzzles me even more is that it's growing leaves and blossoms as well, but the blossoms never open and fall as soon as they reach a certain size.
