Keep the water tray full at all times
Add food once a month
Place it in the brightest location in the home
I've been doing that, but the tree is no longer the vibrant green it once one. It's turning brown. Any suggestions.

Do not fertilize unless growing happily
At all times keep it outside, in the sun
That should improve the condition.

Everything? Oh dear lord! I feel duped. :S
@Tropfrog,
How does one tell if it's actually dead / beyond reviving? If it can be revived, I certainly want to try. I don't even know for sure what species it is though. I haven't yet seen in the Species ID section.
@leatherback,
Thanks!
- You reckon I should just water when the soil is dry? (I have a couple houseplants (spathiphyllum I think) that seem to be well when I water by that criteria. (Photo attached). The one in the red pot is flowering for the second time in less than 6 months.)
- RE: "Do not fertilize unless growing happily." Not sure I follow what you mean. Do you mean that since it's not happily growing, I need to stop fertilizing? I've been using "名媛直播-Pro Liquid Plant Food".
- RE: "At all times keep it outside, in the sun" Is that regardless of the temperature? The local weather has been having some erratic swings — one day, it's 70 degs and the next is 40. Should I only put it outside when the temp is above a certain temperature?

- trees live outside: there is not a tree in the world that lives naturally indoors
- trees do not migrate inside when seasons change or temperature changes..
-fertiliser is not "food". Trees " eat" sunshine which is their source of energy.
Your juniper ( which it is) can very possibly be alrady dead. Needle trees generally show signs of problems ( yellowing needles) when its already WAY TOO LATE.

Well I already emptied the tray and put it outside. There's nothing to do but wait? Nothing actively supportive to help the little thing?
OMG - so sad!

Not much, no.
If the plant is still alive, it may recover somehow.
But the rule is just "keep it outside, water when it's dry". Would have been even if it were in full condition, tbh...
Fertilizing is, in a way, a "plus"; you do it to provide nutrients that help its growth. But if it's not growing, it's worthless (and in some conditions may even be harmful)

I have had trees appear to be dead that suddenly started sprouting leaves three months later. Keep it outside, water occasionally when it is feeling a little dry, and wait. If it all turns brown it's dead, but give it a long time to see.
