Is my tree dead? was created by Relax NJ

Hi All, hope you are staying healthy and occupied. I was hoping someone could let me know if this tree is dead, and if not how I can improve it’s color. I have little to no experience with bonsai. Let me know if there is any further info I can provide to make this easier.

This is unfortunately dead.

Next time, remove the rocks so you can tell when it needs water.

Leatherback used to have a tag line if you aren't killing trees you aren't doing bonsai.

So, congrats, you are doing bonsai!

Now, there were some statements above. Do a little internet research, see what the statements mean, figure out what to do differently, and do something different. Eventually you will figure it all out and have to buy 5 acres in the suburbs to hold all your trees. Or 2 hectares, depending on where you are buying.

Did I?
I am not sure. I doubt it to be honest, as I do not think this should be the case..

Perhaps I confused Clicio and Leatherback. They are both from the same country, look so much alike, etc.

Good judgement in general comes from experience, which comes from bad judgment. Knowing how to keep trees alive can come from figuring out why they died and not doing that again.
