Help with Rhododendron tree. was created by kolr

Posted 5 years 7 months ago #49934
Last autumn I have bought a rhododendron bonsai tree. And there were no changes with the tree untill march. This spring it started to grow new leafs and branches. But in some reason these new leafs are getting dry and fall, but old leafs are ok. Can anyone tell what the possible reasons of it?

Yes, first of all it is inside, behind a window on a windowsill. Second, I can't see it too well but it seems to be placed from a rectangular pot to a bigger round pot with brown wet muck in it?

It is inside, yes. Unfortunately I don't have a possibility to place it outside.
And I have bought the tree in the round pot. Can this type of pot harm the tree?
And photo was taken just after watering it, but the ground can be of poor quality.

If you cant place it outside it will die ( sooner or later)
Its not the type of pot, its the fact that is was very poorly repotted: it looks like it was just taken out of the previous pot, placed it in the round one and added some "soil", just halfway to fill it up.

Hello, welcome.
The soil is not good for your bonsai, but if you repot it again it will possibly die.
It's very difficult to keep Azaleas happy if grown indoors.
You could fill up the pot with good bonsai soil and if possible put it outside in dappled sun.

Make sure you read up on how and when to repot. Also azalea need a slightly acidic soil. It’s not so easy if you don’t know what you are doing

Hello,
Thanks for reply
It hasn't been reported for about a year, as far as I know. Is it still dangerous to repot it?

Do you have some recommendations on what materials could help me, to get more knowledge?
