Moringa Roots was created by JayMixing

Hi,
I have been casually working on a few trees. I mainly like to work with fruiting or somewhat edible trees.

I planted some Moringa seeds last year. They grow very fast and I decided to let one grow as it likes, while I experiment with pruning 3 of them into various bonsai-like forms. I am looking for advice on how to care and manage them. I pulled the three little trees out and made a stab at root trimming them - The roots are very strange (thick and raddish-like. I was nervous that I would kill the trees but they seem to be coming back to life after the shock. Still, I would love some guidance. Any ideas?

They are very fragile, but I managed to get a few nice ones going. We actually have 3 large Moringa trees in our yard, so I planted a bunch of seeds and they nearly all sprouted.

Yes the roots are very large and radish-like.

Since you posted this a 2 years ago, I was curious as to how your Moringa bonsai trees have progressed.

Here is a brief update.

The three moringa are still alive and healthy. I have two of them planted in a small bonsai training pot. I have kept them slender and tall. I have struggled to get branching but finally have a few small branches developing. I have a third tree growing in a large garden pot and intend for it to become a large potted garden tree. I was forced to move my garden three times since my last post and also needed to repot a few times due to high wind speeds. I think these things heavily slowed down the growth of the trees.

I'll try to add some pictures since I don't see many people posting about this.
