How to buy a 名媛直播 online from California? was created by Burkhard

Brussel's 名媛直播 seem to be some of the very best.
I ordered one via Amazon but received a message from Amazon that they cannot ship to California.

Similar bonsai are online for purchase by Home Depot.

How can I purchase a mature bonsai online that can be shipped to California?

Looking at their webshop I beg to differ.

Similar bonsai are online for purchase by Home Depot.

Home Depot does not sell bonsai.

Don't buy a mature bonsai on line. Are you sure you have the budget for a mature bonsai (which will be a couple of hundreds USD) ?

By "mature" I did mean a 3-year old tree...around $30.

Here is the Home Depot link I see:

A 3 year old plant cannot be a bonsai - and most definately not a mature one.

Here is the Home Depot link I see:

Many of the plants on this page have nothing to do with bonsai.
Some of them are mall-sai - low quality, badly shaped, overprized, mass-produced plants.
Some of them are not even mall-sai (look it up), but just young sticks in pots.

Not sure what happened to my reply, so I am posting it again.
I did go to the local Home Depot store the other day and found a small group of 'Money trees' in a beautiful ceramic pot, decorated with dragons or tigers.
In order to see the price tag, I lifted it up. The 'bonsai' fell out!
It was just stuck into a pile of small rocks and had no roots. It did have some leaves, though.

If you really want to get into the art of bonsai, start looking at real bonai. If you want to buy a decorative tree in a decorative pot, fine, but it's just not the same.
If you want to buy art, go to a gallery, not to Ikea.

Typical.

So what would you recommend on how to get started into the real world of real indoor bonsai?

I cannot recommend anything when it concerns indoor bonsai. Trees belong outside. Growing trees outside is much less difficult then trying to grow trees - or even keep them alive - indoors.
If you really want to get into bonsai, start studying. There's a lot of information available on this page.

I'd start with a local species - or a species that's know to do well in your climate - and grow it outside.

Hmm...I had a lot of success growing plants outside, even on a shady north side.
But I am now trying to do the same indoors.

Do you really have the patience? If that's what you want to do. Ficus, seem to work, ok, ... do you have a sunny window?
