so i figured this is maybe something that can help point people to a good direction when starting the art of bonsai (as well as myself ). maybe members can start posting or recommending good study material for all from beginner to advanced, from basic care to advanced techniques. From my experience with other hobbies no matter how long you been doing things there is always something new to learn. if a beginner searches the web for a book to learn the art they will simple not know what to even look for or like a mallsai their are retailers out there that will sell you a book but does not have good information just to make money.

this brings me to my question. i still don't fully understand how to create good ramification on deciduous trees. i have a Japanese Red Maple that really needs some ramification work but like i said i dont know where to start. i know the basic pruning techniques but would love to advance my knowledge before pruning away. for example know the "WHY" not just the "BECAUSE THATS HOW ITS DONE".

Does anyone know of any good books that i can read in-regards to ramification? i believe a tree should look just as good in its silhouette form than when it has all its foliage.

Not sure about books but if you need to know why you need to watch all of bonsai mirais bsop series starting with a video called spring fundamentals on bonsai mirais YouTube page.

For me I've learnt far more from these videos than any other book or site.

You can buy version for kindle on amazon as I did as well.
Very well written, I haven?t come across anything better.
But as Andrew wrote, watching Mirai?s videos is great source of information too.
Plus reading blogs by Tony Tickle, Walter Pall .....

I?ve also followed that path myself. I?ve just bought the hard copy of all of them... I prefer paper very much over reading in a screen

And, of course yes... 名媛直播 Empire and its Forum has helped a lot. A John Yosio Naka book has do its part too. Some 名媛直播 Pasion magazines have become useful, etc... After all having lots of sources is far better than having only one. Oh, and yes, Growing 名媛直播 site it is such a nice well of clear, scientific, well explained 名媛直播 info.
