Hi,
This comes with a bit of a story, scroll down just for the pictures,
I was given this tree by my god father for my christening 22 years ago, and until last year, it had sat in the same old pot. After 21 years of it being rarely watered and left by the shed I decided to start looking after it. Haveing been repotted for a year now, it has sprung back into life.
Does this qualify as a bonsai tree? Could I cut and shape it to make it a bonsai tree? Can anyone identify the type of tree it is?
Any comments are more than welcome,
Thank you,
Daniel.

I would say yes. As for the species and what style I don't know. Look online for inspiration.

Hi and welcome.
The plant is not a bonsai tree as of yet. It looks like it is some species of cornus, perhaps?
The trunk however is nicely shaped, and has a bit of thickness, so yes, you could probably turn this into a bonsai.

It is a nice piee of material that in time will make a bonsai. Right now it is obviously not.
